If your city is seeking federal grants, please note the following:
- Federal agencies often provide funding directly to state government which then distributes funds to local governments. Your city should determine if it is eligible to apply directly to federal agencies for funding.
- Federal grant applicants must provide a Dun and Bradstreet Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number when applying for federal grants.
Federal grant sources:
- Grants.gov and SAM.gov are informational clearinghouses for federal grant funding opportunities; the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) is no longer operational.
- National League of Cities (NLC) grant resources
